Singing Lessons and Vocal Classes 

At Music Lessons Angus and Dundee we offer individual singing lessons and vocal classes. Our lessons and classes are designed to develop healthy vocal technique appropriate to the age range of the singers. 

Our classes and lessons are delivered by highly qualified professional musicians who have trained at the UK's top musical establishments.  We cover a variety of different styles including classical, pop and musical theatre. Lessons will be tailored to the pupils voice and their musical interests. We can prepare pupils for formal music examinations including ABRSM, Trinity. MTB and SQA examinations. Our individual lessons are available in 30 min, 45 min or 60 minutes and are usually on a weekly basis during term time. Additional lessons are available on an ad hoc basis during the holidays. Lessons are delivered at our purpose built studio and/or online via zoom. 

Junior Music

Suitable for ages 5-7, this class is a fun and energetic class that uses singing, playing percussion instruments and musical games to help introduce the basic principles of music. Using Kodlay and Dalcrose teaching methodologies, we will explore pitch, rhythm, dynamics, tempo, and introduce basic musical notation in fun and creative ways. This is the perfect class for your little music maker to enjoy and prepare for the up take of a musical instrument or vocal lessons available in the next class group.

Vocal Class

A great class for the young and inspiring vocalist. Suitable for ages 8 -16, this class will build on skills and explore the key elements of music – rhythm, pitch, tempo, dynamics through musical games and singing using the Kodlay teaching methodology. This class will include vocal warm ups, development of healthy vocal technique, and enjoying suitable repertoire from a variety of different genres including, pop, musical theatre and classical. Group performance opportunities will be available as well as the opportunity to compete in local competitions. 

Musical Theatre

This class develops pupils’ skills in three disciplines; Singing, Dance and Acting.  Young performers develop healthy technique, explore age appropriate repertoire and provide them with skills to develop confidence on stage. Pupils will be given performance opportunities throughout the year and progress to develop skills for industry and auditions. Led by qualified teachers with experience working professionally in industry. This class is relaxed and fun with plenty of opportunity to make new friends and develop social skills. This class is in collaboration with MCS and Dundee Youth Music Theatre who will be delivering workshops and working together on performing opportunities.
